Health Care for All
By Demosthenes | November 13, 2008
I wonder what everyone will think when the our health care begins to get rationed? Let’s face it, when everyone has access who does not have it now, including illegal immigrants, do you really think those long waits in the emergency room or your doctor’s office will get shorter? Nope. They’ll get longer.
But that’s not the worst part. What’s really going to happen is there simply won’t be enough health care providers available. The only solution short of magically creating more doctors is to begin to use a crude form of triage, where we have to decide to treat only those that are worth treating. Since younger people have a longer life to which to look forward, it only makes sense then to tell the older people they can’t get that bypass surgery.
I wonder how they’ll blame George Bush for that?
